[Graduate School] Application for Guest Students

Eligibility for Application

Applicants must fulfill both of the following requirements.

  1. College Graduates
  2. Applicants who are evaluated by the Graduate School of Engineering and Science Committee to posses the scholarly abilities exceeding those of college graduates

<NOTE>
SIT admission team fully complies with Foreign Exchange and
Foreign Trade Act and the other Export Trade Ordinances.
In the case of associated legal requirements are not be met, SIT might not be able to accept your request.

Be noted that it could be possible that the class supervisor denies your participation in a class. We ask for your kind understanding (Please contact with the supervisor of each class via the office of Graduate School Section).

Application

  1. CV with one photo attached (standard form by SIT)
  2. 1 photo (4 x 3, taken within 3 months of application, front view, hatless, upper body)
  3. Certificate of Graduation from the school graduated most recently
  4. Academic Record from the school graduated most recently
  5. Evaluation fee 10,000 yen (not necessary for SIT Graduates)
  6. In the case of foreign applicants, the following documents are necessary.

  1. (If you are taking a Japanese subject) Copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N1) result.
  2.Covenant (Standard form by SIT, written guarantee by the applicant’s guarantor)
  3.Copy of the applicant’s Residence Card or Passport

Tuition

  1. Enrolment fee 30,000 yen (15,000 yen for SIT Graduates)
  2. Study fee 15,000 yen for 1 credit

Eligibility for Application


For those who have received or expect to receive a master’s degree by September 2023.
(*It is desirable for foreign students to have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level N1.)

2024 Spring Semester

(1) Prior Consultation

  The supervisor/professor will confirm with you in advance whether or not you will be accepted into their laboratory.

   Submit all the required documents via the website ” The Admissions Office ”

   Please use the form for pre-consultation” Research Students(Master)”.

Period of acceptance: Until December 1st, 2023

You may not proceed with the application without the informal acceptance of the supervisor/professor.

Submit all the required documents via the website ” The Admissions Office ”

Please use the form for pre-consultation” Research Students(Master)”.
Period of acceptance: from December 8th, 2023 to December 15th, 2023

After evaluating the submitted documents, SIT will notify the applicants of the results around the end of January.

(7) English Test Score Report (TOEIC® L&R、TOEIC® S&W、TOEFL® iBT、IELTS Academic、GTEC(4 Skills for Professionals / Students))or Document certifies that have obtained a degree from a higher education institution by taking classes and receiving research guidance etc. in English < Those who have obtained a degree from a higher education institution by taking classes and receiving research guidance etc. in English only> *

Application Procedure for Research Students

Expenses

  1. Examination Fee
  JPY35, 000
 – paid at the same time the application is submitted

2. Academic Fee
  • Registration Fee: JPY 59,000(*Graduates of SIT: JPY 29,500)
  • Research Guidance Fee (one year): JPY 300,000
  • Research Guidance Fee (half a year): JPY 150,000
  • Experiment and Practice Fee: Actual expenses(*Depends on the research field)

 *SIT will announce the payment period for the Academic Fee at a later date.

Decision Notification

  • Evaluation should be done by submitted documents.
  • Announcement of Result will be delivered by e-mail.
