Outline of General Entrance Examination (Master)

Global Course of Engineering and Science, one of the Master’s Program Major of Graduate School of Engineering and Science, conducts admission examination in English only. Enrollment period should be in April(spring) or October(fall). For spring enrollment, there are two opportunities to take examination; in August and November. For fall enrollment, on the other hand, applicants have only one opportunity in July. For further information, refer to the guideline.

Eligibility to Apply


Applicants should fulfill ONE of the following requirements.
1Those who have graduated or are expected to graduate from the university designated under Article 83 of the School Education Act of Japan by the end of assigned month.
2Those who have been or are expected to be granted a Bachelor’s degree from the NIAD-UE (the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation) under Article 104 (Paragraph 4) of the School Education Act of Japan by the end of assigned month.
3Those who have completed or are expected to complete 16 years of school education outside Japan by the end of assigned month.
4Those who have completed or are expected to complete 16 years of school education within Japan through correspondence courses offered by an overseas school by the end of assigned month.
5Those who have completed or are expected to complete courses offered by an overseas university’s Japan campus (designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) by the end of assigned month.
6Those who have been awarded a degree equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a foreign university or other institution, by completing a course of study of three years or more (five years for a doctoral program in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, or veterinary medicine).
7Those who have completed specialized courses at an advanced vocational school, designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (requiring a minimum period of four years or longer for graduation, and satisfying other conditions specified by the Minister), after the date specified by the Minister.
8Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, or have equivalent qualifications by the end of assigned month.
9Those who have been recognized by SIT Graduate School of Engineering and Science Committee to have the equivalent or higher level of academic ability than the average university graduate.
*Note 1: Please consult in advance if you are not clear with which qualifications apply to you.
*Note 2: In case you could not meet any of the above requirements, you may take a Prequalification at SIT, prior to your application. After you pass the Prequalification, you may apply to the graduate school by fulfilling Requirement (9).
