国際プログラム概要

システム理工学部全5課程に設置されている国際プログラムの概要について説明した動画です。後半では、実際に国際プログラムで学修した学生へインタビューもしています。

Innovate and create new content and structure on the global stage!

今、世界の開発現場で急速に広がる『グローバルオープンイノベーション』。自社の中だけでなく、外部とも連携してさまざまなアイデアを組み合わせ、新しい価値を創造するというもの。新たなモノや仕組みを創出する場では、欠かせないものとなってきました。そして、他の企業、研究者と協同で何かをつくりあげるために必要とされるものが、グローバルなコミュニケーション能力です。単なる英語力ではなく、専門分野を組み合わせて議論し合える力、異文化への対応力などをもつグローバルな理工系人材を、現代社会は熱望しています。

Have you heard the phrase Global Open Innovation? It is a new concept to collaboratively create brand-new values through combining various ideas both inside and outside a group or organization. This concept has become indispensable in fields that develop new things and mechanisms. Global communication skills are therefore required to collaborate with other researchers and companies. Society ardently desires global engineers and scientists who have acquired not only English skills but also the ability to engage in discussions beyond their own major and adapt to different cultures.

専門分野の枠を越えた課題が山積する現代社会。その解決方法は、未来への確かな展望のもと、社会生活を営む現場からさまざまな要素が関連づけられ形づくられています。そうした現代社会の課題を解決するために、1991年、これまでの解析主導の工学とは異なる新たな視点の工学を追及する学部として、システム理工学部は誕生しました。「もの」や「こと」の仕組みを解明して、横のつながりを重視した付加価値のあるものづくりをめざしています。2017年に3学科、2019年にすべての学科に創設された国際プログラムでは、これまでのシステム理工学部が取り組んできた分野横断型の学びに加えて、専門分野を英語で学び、海外の大学で専門科目を受講し、英語での研究を進めるという先進的なカリキュラムでグローバル人材の育成をめざします。国境を越えて活躍できる理工系人材へ。システム理工学部の新しい挑戦は続きます。2026年に課程制になり、国際プログラムはさらにブラッシュアップされました。

The College of Systems Engineering and Science was started in 1991 as a new-generation cross-disciplinary engineering school to tackle complicated problems related to various components in our social lives. The first three Global Programs were launched in 2017, and the other three in 2019. Through the leading-edge international curricula of the Global Program, students will learn their major subjects in English, study abroad at foreign partner universities, and also carry on their final-year research in English. The College of Systems Engineering and Science continues to envolve. In 2026, it transitioned to a new program-based structure, further strengthing and refining its Global Program.

POINT 1　１セメスター以上の留学が必須 - Study abroad at least for one semester -

１セメスター以上の留学が必須
海外提携大学に留学し、規定数以上の単位を修得します。なお、留学すること自体による留年の心配はありません。
Students in the Global Program must study abroad at SIT’s partner universities and obtain more than specified number of credits in English. Studying abroad in the program does not, by itself, requires students to repeat a year.

POINT 2　専門科目を英語で学修 - Take specialized courses taught in English -

専門科目を英語で学修
卒業に必要な総単位数の1/4以上を英語開講科目（国際プログラム英語認定科目）で学修し、単位認定を受けます。
Students in the Global Program must obtain more than one-quarter of total credits required for graduation from the specialized subjects taught in English.

POINT 3　英語による総合研究（卒業研究）を実施 - Work on Undergraduate Thesis Research III/IV in English -

英語による総合研究（卒業研究）を実施
4年次の総合研究では英語で論文をまとめ、発表することになります。
Students in the Global Program must write their research thesis and make presentations in English. 

充実した留学前教育 - Education and training before studying abroad –

国際プログラムでは、海外の提携大学での専門科目の学修に備えて、徹底した準備教育を行います。
The Global Program will offer sufficient education and training to prepare for study abroad at SIT’s partner universities.
国際研修科目Ⅰ・Ⅱ - International training program I/II -
教員とともに、海外の企業や大学にて研修を行います。現地での実践的な学びを通して、異文化への理解をも深めます。
Stay for a few weeks and study at foreign partner universities with SIT professors to acquire experience studying abroad and interacting with different cultures.
Buddy科目 - Buddy program -
留学生への日常生活や授業のサポートに加え、異文化理解やクリティカルシンキングの練習も合わせ、留学前のシミュレーションを行います。
This program allows students studying abroad before departure by supporting international students in daily life and classes, while also developing intercultural understanding and critical thinking skills.
課外英会話 - English-on-campus program for extracurricular activities -
学内で開講される課外英会話講座「毎日学べる英会話」。学内で自由な時間に受講することができます。
Take English conversation program on campus in your spare time.
理工系英語プレゼンテーション - Presentation skills in science and technology -
実践的な授業を通して、専攻する分野の専門用語を用いたプレゼンテーション力を身につけます。
Acquire competence in English presentation using technical terms through practical approaches.
国際PBL - Global PBL -
海外協定校において、現地の学生と共同で課題解決に取り組むことによりチームワークとリーダーシップを養います。
Learn and cultivate teamwork and leadership by tack ling various problems with local students who have a dierent background at foreign partner universities.
国際インターンシップ - Overseas Internship -
２週間以上の海外での就業体験に参加し、文化や習慣が異なる環境下で実習・生活を体験します。
Work at foreign companies and universities for more than two weeks, and learning to adapt yourself both professionally and personally.

システム理工学部では、理工学の基礎知識と幅広い専門分野の知識に加え、学問体系を横断し関連づけるシステム工学の手法を学修します。すなわち、総合的解決策を追及する「システム思考」、目的達成の機能をつくる「システム手法」、問題解決の人・知識・技術を統合する「システムマネジメント」を修得し、新しい時代の要請に応え、地域と人類社会の発展に寄与する高い倫理観を育みます。国際プログラムではさらに、グローバルな理工系人材育成のために海外提携大学に留学し、英語により開講される科目の単位取得を必修とし、グローバル社会で活躍するための柔軟なコミュニケーション能力を培います。

In the College of Systems Engineering and Science, students are expected to learn not only basic and specialized knowledge for engineering and science but, more broadly, the entire systems engineering approach: systems thinking, systems engineering techniques, and systems management, giving them the skills to succeed on the global stage. In addition, students enrolled in the Global Program are required to study abroad at SIT’s partner universities, obtain credit for specialized subjects in English, and also improve their communication skills.

SELECTION & SUPPORT

入学者選抜について - Student selection -

入学後に希望者を対象に説明会および相談会を開催します。一定以上の英語力を満たした学生が国際プログラムの履修を申請し、その後選抜を行います。なお、国際プログラム定員は各課程・コースの全定員の１割です。

After enrollment, an information session and consultation meeting will be held for interested students. Those who meet the required level of English proficiency may apply for admission to the Global Program and will be selected through a screening process. The program quota is approximately 10% of the total capacity of each program and course.

学費・奨学金 -Tuition and scholarship for studying abroad -

多くの協定校では、留学先大学への授業料の支払いは不要です。ただし、渡航費、海外旅行保険料、生活費などは自己負担となります。本学では、海外留学支援制度や授業料支援制度などの給付型奨学金を用意しています（要事前申請、詳細は大学Webページ）。

At many partner universities, students are not required to pay tuition fees to the host institution.However, travel expenses, overseas travel insurance, and living costs must be covered by the student.The university also offers non-repayable scholarship programs, including study abroad and tuition support schemes. 国際学生寮について -SIT Global Dormitory on the Omiya Campus-

大宮キャンパスに隣接する国際学生寮は、半数を占める10カ国以上の留学生との共同生活を通じて留学前に語学力と国際感覚を磨ける最適な環境が整っています（最大 2年間、12月頃Web上で募集、選考あり）。

Successful applicants can live in the SIT Global Dormitory for up to two years. The dormitory offers a vibrant community and social events for residents from all over the world, providing the perfect opportunity to enhance English communication skills and foster a global mindset.
