The following is the information about coronavirus measures after May 8th.

Due to the change in the legal classification of new coronavirus infections from “equivalent to category 2” to “category 5”, the response to coronavirus infections will be changed as follows.

Recovery period at onset It will be 5 days from the onset date (0 days), and until 24 hours have passed since recovery. Please refrain from attending school during this period. In addition, those who developed symptoms before May 7th and those who have been in close contact with infected people will also be subject to the revised standards from May 8th.

Close contacts The handling of “close contacts” has been abolished.

Experiments, practical training will be conducted in-person, subject to special precautions for preventing the spread of infection. Online is also an option. Classroom lectures will be conducted online but it's allowed to conduct in-person class with a limited number of students※1.	Participating in and hosting research meetings in-person, such as academic conferences, is generally prohibited. But certain on-campus research activities are permitted depending upon the research environment.	The library will be open but the hours and number of users will be restricted. Home delivery lending service will be provided.	Use of all classrooms will be permitted but the number of users will be restricted.	Counter service will be provided with a limited number of staff, subject to special precautions for preventing the spread of infection.
Level 3 （Restriction-High）	Students will generally not be allowed to enter the campuses. Only those students who are required to enter the campus to graduate or complete their studies will be permitted to enter on a limited basis.	As a general rule, faculty should not enter the campuses. Only those who are required to enter the campus to instruct students who are graduating or completing their studies are permitted to enter, subject to special precautions for preventing the spread of infection.	All the classes including experiment and practical training will be conducted online.	Participating in and hosting research meetings in-person such as academic conferences is prohibited. As a general rule, research should be conducted at home. Entry to the laboratory is permitted only when it is essential for preparation and continuation of research.	The library will be closed but home delivery lending services will be provided.	As a general rule, the use of all classrooms will not be permitted.	Minimum counter service will be provided with a limited number of staff. As a general rule, staff will respond by email or phone.
Level 4 （As a general rule, suspend all activities at campues）	Entering the campuses will be prohibited for all students.	Entering the campuses will be prohibited for all faculty members.	All the classes will be conducted online.	Only research staff who need to enter the laboratories temporarily may be allowed with the permission of their academic unit's representative, such as the dean or department head, in order to maintain the required minimum level of research assets. ※1　Online courses at Levels 1 and 2 may be allowed on an application basis under certain conditions, such as the presence of an underlying medical condition.
※2　For extracurricular activities, the guidelines set by the Center for Student Affairs should be followed, as the activity restrictions vary depending on whether it is an athletic, cultural, or athletic event.
