位於石川縣輪島市門前町黑島地區的某處町屋，因地震而受損，現處於是否進行公費拆除的「留保」狀態。我們的設計不在於外加一個完成形態，而是在現地內部引發一種連續建構的動態，設計出一個轉換點——讓靜止的摩擦力轉變為可持續動能的關鍵時刻。我們將震災視作自然流變中的一部分，並將建築重新定位為這一連串變動現象中的一個階段。「留保的設計」因此成為對建築師職能邊界的一次積極挑戰。

In a machiya located in the Kuroshima district of Monzen Town, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the structure sustained damage from the earthquake and is currently in a state of “Retention”—awaiting a decision on whether it will be publicly demolished.
Our design approach is not to impose a predetermined form, but rather to activate a dynamic process of continuous construction from within the site itself. We aim to create a point of transformation—a critical moment where static friction shifts into sustained momentum. We understand the seismic event not as an interruption, but as part of the natural continuum of change, and we reframe architecture as one phase within this ongoing transformation. In this sense, the “Design of Retention” becomes an active provocation—a deliberate challenge to the conventional boundaries of the architect’s role.

輪島市門前町黒島地区に立地する被災した町屋に、公費解体を「留保」するかりそめの姿を与える。外から完成形を現地に与えるのではなく、内部から組み立てる連続的運動の静止摩擦係数を動摩擦係数に変える 1 点になりうる場を設計した。震災という事象を自然な流れとして肯定的に受け止め、建築を動き続ける事象の一過程の姿として捉え直した「留保の設計」は、新しい建築家の職能への挑戦である。

今後の展望
日本の極めてローカルな場で小さく手探りの中で取り組んだプロジェクトを、日本代表として推薦いただき、国際的なディスカッションの場で最高賞で評価いただいたことを嬉しく思います。まだまだ未熟な自分ではありますが、これからも邁進します。
