Are there any exams or vaccines that I need to take to be able to study at SIT? Do we need proof of vaccination? Also, do you recommend getting other vaccinations other than listed, such as the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine?

There is no compulsory vaccine for entering Japan. However, in recent years there have been some outbreaks of certain diseases from travelers who were not vaccinated. Please check with your doctor about the types of vaccines that you have already had and extra vaccination you need to take if any.
Also, you do not have to submit a separate document to prove the vaccination. On the health certificate, fill up the record of the vaccine that you have taken before, and no need to take the new vaccine including the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine.

For students staying for more than 90 days, please submit the health certificate provided by SIT.
For students staying less than 90 days, if you have a special health issue(s) please state that so on the health form provided by SIT, and if there are explanations about the medication you take, or about the symptoms, please have your Doctor note that in a letter.
