Space Electric Propulsion Laboratory
Electric Propulsion Rockets Exploring Space
Electric propulsion is a rocket engine system used for spacecrafts. This system generates a propulsive force by throwing “plasma” at a velocity over 30 km/s. Japanese “Hayabusa” and “Hayabusa 2” satellites used ion thruster systems. We are developing our own thrusters and studying internal plasma physics. Let’s design new rocket engines with your imagination.
