Tourism & Language Information Laboratory

Contributing to the well-being of people and communities by utilizing information in the field of tourism

The birthrate is declining and the population is aging in Japan. Under such circumstances, it is necessary to increase travel consumption by foreign visitors to Japan and to increase tourism income in the region. In addition, for the health and well-being of the elderly, it is necessary to develop new tourism styles for the elderly and take measures to promote their health. Promoting inbound tourism and the involvement of the elderly in tourism will also revitalize the region. In our laboratory, we are conducting research on the examination of customer service training for hotel staff in English using VR, the development of barrier-free tourism content for the elderly, and effective methods for inbound promotion.
