Field Robot Laboratory
Develop intelligent robots useful to humans and society
Our goal is to train engineers who can work to on the recently topical "Society 5.0" and on technologies needed to advance artifical intelligence, the internet of things and robotics. We are also researching how to apply these base technologies in intelligent robots that are useful to humans and society. Specifically, we are researching and developing heavy robotic machinery that can work in places that are dangerous for humans, and autonomous drones to perform maintenance on structures in places humans cannot reach.

For Society
Rather than confining our reasearch to the laboratory, we engage in on-site joint research and development projects with the people who work in the field to develop robot technology that will be useful to society.Research Themes
- Research and development on creating heavy robotic machinery to perform unmanned construction work
- Research and development on robotic maintenance machinery for golf courses
- Research and development of guide robots for museums
- Research and development of outdoor autonomous mobile robots for the Tsukuba Challenge competition
- Research and development of semi-autonomous sprayer drones for infrastructure inspection and repair
- Research and development of light-weight, dry cell-eqipped, flexible electrostatic adsorption devices that can adsorb any material
