Mathematical Design Laboratory

Mathematical modeling and analysis of designs

Aspects of physics, engineering and economics can be described by differential equations when mathematically modeled. A subject can be analyzed by finding the solution to its differential equation. For example, how heat is transmitted can be understood from the heat conduction equation. This shows how a variety of phenomena can be analyzed by describing them as differential equations.

STUDY FIELDS

  • Mathematics

FOR SOCIETY

As this is a field of pure mathematics, there are no direct applications in the real world. Our dream is for our work to be used in research in other fields 100 years from now. That said, the ability to see into the true essence of things is useful in society.

RESEARCH THEMES

  • q-discretization of differential equations
  • Diffusion equation analysis
