Notice on Temperature Check When Entering Campus

Beginning on Thursday, May 7th, everyone – including faculty, staff and students – will need to have their temperature taken for signs of possible COVID-19 infection upon entering campus buildings, in order to prevent the spread of the infection.

We will also require that everyone in any SIT campus space (including campus buildings, grounds, shared laboratory areas, etc.) wear a surgical mask at all times. These restrictions are being put in place for the safety of our community.

To keep our students, faculty, staff, and community safe, you will not be permitted to enter a campus building if:
  1. Your temperature is 37.5°C/100.0°F or higher.
  2. You have one of these symptoms: Fever, Chills, Muscle pain, Cough, Loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Temperature Measurement Process
Before you enter campus buildings, you must stop by a temperature measuring station at the main entrance on each campus. These stations are staffed by fellow SIT employees who will have a no-touch thermometer to take your temperature.
Where is the temperature screening held?
At the entrance or designated place of each campus (Shibaura, Toyosu and Omiya)
Who is required to have a temperature check?
  1. Students and faculty members
  2. Visitors and those who need to work on campus such as construction workers.
