On 12 and 13 October 2026, Takeo Suzumi, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Masakazu Kimura, Senior Director, Member of the Board; and Masaomi Kimura, Director, International Programs Center, Shibaura Institute of Technology (hereafter SIT), attended the commemorative events for the 70th anniversary of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (hereafter HUST), one of SIT’s partner universities, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
On 12 October, Chairman Suzumi delivered congratulatory remarks at the anniversary ceremony, which was attended by HUST’s international partners. Founded in 1956, HUST is one of Vietnam’s leading science and technology universities. SIT and HUST have a long history of exchange. Through SIT’s own scholarship program, the “Hybrid Twinning Program,” many HUST graduates have earned doctoral degrees at SIT, and many of them now serve as faculty members at their alma mater, HUST. This has built a strong network between the faculty of the two universities.
On 13 October, the second day, HUST and its overseas partner universities held discussions on future exchange. The delegation was also introduced to the “Vietnam-Japan Space,” a facility that promotes collaboration with Japan, one of HUST’s closest partner countries. At the Vietnam-Japan Space, the SIT delegation met with HUST faculty members who earned their doctoral degrees at SIT and discussed future collaboration between the two universities.
