Low-Pressure Magnetic Susceptibility Study in λ-(BETS)2GaCl4

Aulia-Anisa-Fildaus

Purpose of the Research

Research on superconductivity. This is basic research on superconductivity based on organic materials that are not alloys or ceramics.

Research Summary

This study revealed that some superconducting properties of BETS, a superconductor composed of organic molecules based on carbon and selenium, are similar to those of a series of copper oxide superconductors known as famous high-temperature superconductors.

Future Prospects

Superconducting materials are used not only as materials for solving energy problems but also as computing elements in quantum computers, but there are still many aspects of the mechanism of superconductivity that remain unclear. The similarities between the superconducting properties exhibited by the copper oxides and organic materials, which appear to be completely different at first glance, are expected to help unravel the mysteries of the mechanism of superconductivity. Furthermore, we believe that this may lead to design guidelines for new superconducting materials.
