Making high-temperature superconductors more functional and developing their applications

In a society plagued with various serious environment and energy problems, superconductivity, which is the ultimate energy-saving technology, is indispensable. Moreover, high-temperature superconductive materials are epoch-making in that they exhibit superconductivity at a temperature above that of liquid nitrogen; however, sufficient studies have not been conducted on its practical use to the society. Therefore, our laboratory is developing materials and applications with the aim to make high-temperature superconductive materials widely used in the society.
