High Frequncy System Laboratory
Did you know digital signal processing involves the addition and multiplication of “0s” and “1s”?
Radio waves are one of the representative high frequency electrical signals that are used in TVs and mobile phones to enrich our lives. Our laboratory is studying wireless communication systems using radio waves. More specifically, we are inputting data we want to send into radio waves and obtaining data from received radio waves through the process of adding and multiplying “0s” and “1s.”

For Society
High frequency signals are used in the field, in which images and voices are converted into digital signals such as in terrestrial broadcasting, mobile phones and amateur radio. They have become a key technology to allow air conditioners, washing machines and other latest home appliances to make complicated “judgments.”Research Themes
- Research on the remote control of devices and machines via gestures
- Research on automatic speech transcription by recognizing the shapes of lips
- Development of a device to correct the posture using infrared measurements
- Research on MIMO-OFDM parallel transmission
