Activity Landscape Design Laboratory

Designing better cities by understanding mechanisms of human behavior

We develop mathematical technologies to observe, understand and forecast human behavior in urban spaces, which allow us to forecast travel-activity demands as responses to designs. Based on the technologies, we study how to optimize designs of urban spaces and mobility systems. As such, we think of urban and transportation planning from the perspective of designing human behavior.
