Architecture and Dwelling Environment Design Laboratory

Research on designing and planning mainly of dwelling environments

We conduct research on architectural design, in particular, the designing of dwelling environments. The field of architectural design deals with broad areas that range from the materials we touch every day to urban problems. Among them, we are particularly interested in relatively small-scale problems of stand-alone houses and the aggregates of such houses. We will examine the groups of such architectures, which occupy most of our living environments, from the aspects of “outside” (landscapes and economy) and “inside” (living space and building methods), to explore good ways to design dwelling environments.

For Society

Our towns and the buildings in which we live have become increasingly comfortable with the passage of time, but there is still room for improvement. We will contribute to building architecture and developing towns by enriching them and making them even more comfortable by proposing plans mainly to improve these dwelling environments.
