Masato Murakami, President

University first semester will begin on May 11.

Faculty and staff are working hard together to deliver online lectures with high quality assurance. We have been performing seminars many times so that we can provide the classes with no trouble. However, there is no complete system. I hope that you also work together as students to make our online classes even better. Work-from-home based on IT technology will be must in the society. I am sure that this experience will be a valuable asset for your future career development.

Some of you may be wondering if you can take classes on your own Internet environment. By the time classes start, we will make preparations so that everyone can take the online lectures with no problems.

There may be students who are unable to maintain an internet environment due to financial problems. Therefore, the university has decided to provide a 60,000 yen scholarship to all students. We hope you will make the most of this scholarship.

In addition, the university is considering lending equipment to students who are unable to prepare a PC or other equipment before the start of the program. I have heard that some students have already consulted. Please do not hesitate to contact us about loans. The faculty of the department will assist you on this matter.

Furthermore, I have heard that some students have financial difficulties in continuing their studies due to the corona disaster. The University has established scholarships (up to 500,000 yen per person) that do not require repayment of academic support. Funds will be provided by donations from faculty, staff, alumni and others who support the cause.

In addition, we plan to expand the SIT Emergency Scholarship and Special Scholarship programs, as well as expand and flexibly respond to the selection slots for the scholarships for those with sudden changes in household finances, in order to support students in all aspects of their studies.

Under the slogan of "Nobody left behind", the faculty and staff of this university are ready to overcome the corona peril by working together with you. I appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.
