Today the Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) announced that SIT was recognized by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) as one of the most noteworthy universities in the world because of SIT’s unique educational activities in the fields of engineering and science.

“We are pleased that ASEE has focused on our activities and selected us as a notable university,” said Prof. Dr. Masato Murakami, the president of SIT. “Nurturing engineers and scientists who learn from the world and contribute to global sustainability, was our founder, Dr. Shiro Arimoto’s philosophy, which is always on our mind. SIT continues to work closely with government, industry and academia internationally so that we can contribute to globally suitable growth”.

The article highlighted global PBL (Project-Based Learning) as an example of SIT’s notable activities, in which students from all over the world form international teams to solve challenging problems faced by industry and government throughout the region.
