Prof. Yoshitaka Adachi received the Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1983 from Tokyo Denki University, and the Doctor of Engineering degrees in 2003 from Tokyo Institute of Technology. From 1983 to 2005, he was a research engineer at SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION. Since 2005, he has been a faculty member in the Department of Machinery and Control Systems, College of Systems Engineering and Science, Shibaura Institute of Technology, where he is currently a professor. Also he is currently a visiting scientist in Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo from 2010.
Research fields are medical engineering and virtual reality including a surgical training mannequin, an imitation of human anatomy and ROV (Remotely operated vehicle).

Prof. Adachi is a directors of Japanese Society for Medical Virtual Reality. He is a member of the Virtual Reality Society of Japan, the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, the Robotics Society of Japan and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
