Prof. Usami received BS, MS and Dr. Eng degrees from Waseda University in 1982, 1984 and 2000. He joined Toshiba in 1984 and worked on VLSI design of CPU chips. From 1993 to 1995, he studied at Stanford University as a visiting scholar. He joined Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2003.
His current research projects are in the area of architecture and circuit-level design techniques, design methodologies and CAD techniques for low power processor design.
