Objectives in Education and Research
The nurturing of engineers who are active in domestic as well as in international level has become a pressing issue with the accelerating progress in globalization. The Global Course of Engineering and Science is a master program in engineering and science. This course aims to provide advanced liberal arts education, acquire advanced technical knowledge as well as to confer advanced knowledge and ability related to engineering and science demanded by the society.
This course is the embodiment of university educational mission, “Nurturing engineers and scientists who learn from the world and contribute to the world”, in graduate school education.
This course also aims to nurture engineers (working at international sections in Japan or at sites overseas) and scientists who have the following 4 expected abilities as an engineer or a scientist and who can contribute to the solutions of global issues.
- The ability to understand different culture and communicate through mutual understanding under global environment.
- The ability to discover and solve problems.
- The ability to understand the advantage of one’s country and act based on global point of view.
- The ability to make innovations by understanding the social and economic values of technology developments.
This course works toward the goals above by conducting a cross-disciplinary education and research across 6 majors which are electric, electronic and information engineering, material engineering, applied chemistry, mechanical engineering, construction engineering and system engineering.
