Human Robot System Laboratory

Creating the greatest robots that incorporate the " wonders of humans" to make humanity greater.

There are many things about humans that are more amazing than robots, and many things we do not yet understand. We believe that if we can incorporate the amazing features of humans into robots, the performance of robots will be further improved, and we will discover unknown features of humans by creating and using robots. In particular, we are developing robots with higher mobility and energy efficiency than ever before by incorporating the "amazing features of humans" such as the springiness of the human body, whole-body synchronization, and whole-body balance control into robots. In addition, we are researching control technology that enables the human to act directly with the robot, as well as technology that reproduces sensory feedback to humans, and are working on the practical application of robot technology based on these technologies. Let's work together to create robot systems for a new era!

  • Computer Science

FOR SOCIETY

・Develop high-performance humanoids that incorporate human features and create a future in which humanoids play an active role in our daily lives. ・Develop a system to control humanoids as if they were our own bodies, and create a future where we can go anywhere with becoming a robot. ・Find a better way to move the human body and a sports form that is less injurious to the human body by using the humanoid's control technology. ・Develop fully-automated agricultural robots to promote agriculture in abandoned fields and desertified areas, and contribute to solving food and climate change problems.

RESEARCH THEMES

  • High-performance humanoid robot incorporating features of human body structure and control
  • Autonomous agricultural robots capable of performing multiple tasks
  • Control system to operate the robot like your own body
