45 Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) faculty and staff members, led by Rector Prasart Suebka, visited at SIT on June 30. Suranaree University of Technology, located in Nakhon Rachasima about 300km northeast of Bangkok, has been one of SIT’s partner universities since 2010.
SUT sends its teaching staff and mid-management administrative employees to overseas universities as part of its faculty-and-staff-collaboration training program. The SUT cohort learned about and discussed the three pillars of SIT’s mission – education, research and community outreach – and how SIT employees embody those values through presentations given by SIT staff members.
After a brief introduction of SIT, President Masato Murakami presented SIT’s effort in technological pedagogy and team-building activities for a stronger faculty-staff tie.
SIT administrative staff did presentations on teaching systems, joint community outreach programs by faculty members and University Research Administrator (URA) and international collaboration.
SUT’s Rector Prasart Suebka gave the closing speech which was followed by an exchange of gifts between the two universities.
SIT and SUT will jointly hold a global PBL (Project Based Learning) program at SUT’s Nakhon Rachasima campus in February 2017.
